Reviewers gets it wrong on the Love Guru
So this is dated. Fine! I’m always checking films out after the reviewers has had their say. But I didn’t check this out earlier because some reviewers gave it the thumbs down. And I don’t see why.
Sure some of his jokes had a lot of focus on erm… adult themes…and erm.. some other stuff… but on the whole, if you find yourself laughing out loud, at every 5 - 10 minutes, you know you’ve got a jackpot!
And I must say, Myers has a lot of philosophies worth thinking too! But in a hilarious poke at life!
Justin Timberlake, in his first film role, as far as I know, exceeds expectation in his unrecognisable if you don’t pay attention role! Jessica Alba, is, for the first time, not irritating. I found her… likeable in this film! But my favourite character was probably Verne Troyer as Coach Punch Cherkov. (The film also took a hit for making fun of his people, but I felt Troyer held his own in the film and stood out as someone who can take the punches and hit back).
I also loved the art direction, felt clean and to the point. For some reason, it looked fresh - and kudos for the last scene (before the credits role) as well as one of the funniest outtake scenes as the credits role.
